The last book of the Twisted Series is Twisted Lies by Ana Huang. This book follows Stell and Christian. Stella is a fashion influencer and Christian is a billionaire security tech tycoon. He also owns property throughout the D.C area and has other investments. Throughout the previous three books it was obvious that Christian had an interest in Stella. Their relationship really starts to blossom in this book. Stella was renting an apartment in one of his buildings with Jules but when Jules moved in with Josh it left Stella in the apartment alone. Christian allowed Stella to continue to rent the apartment at a severe discount because he enjoyed having her in close proximity to him.

As the stories progresses you learn that Christian has an obsession with Stella and that Stella has a stalker. I found myself questioning who the stalker could possibly be throughout the book. The stalking gets so bad that Stella agrees to live with Christian and to be in a fake relationship with him. Since he is so high profile and she is becoming more famous with her social media it was thought that the stalker would back down on the stalking. It seemed to help with Stella's situation for a while.

While they are living together they get to know one another. They learn the foods the other enjoys and their lifestyles. Both Christian and Stella are very health concious throughout the book. Christian works out a lot and does not like to indulge in desserts or sweets of any kind. Stella is very concious of what goes into her body and enjoys yoga/meditative activities. Stella is big on starting her day with a wheat grass smoothie. She writes in a journal daily and will write 3 gratitudes for the day. Throughout the book you often get a glimpse of her journal entries and her gratitudes.

Although the two characters build a relationship that seems to be strong, they do have their struggles. Stella discovers a secrete that Christian was keeping and feels that she has been lied to all along. The secret is so big that it causes her to leave which puts her in great danger.

This book was my favorite of the series and one that I think of often. The story line and the characters had me so invested. Since the characters were so health concious I decided to go with something that both characters had daily. When Stella first moved in with Christian she got him to start drinking her wheat grass smoothies. I know that it does not sound overally appealing. I mentioned to my sister and brother this smoothie and they both gave me a look. Since these are all recipes inspired by books, I felt that this recipe was the one that made the most sense. I couldn't possibly do the one dessert that Christian does have in the book because it is simply impossible and you need to read the book to know what it is. (hint: it is quite a spicy dessert) I of course did have the wheat grass smoothie and I was pleasantly surprised with how it tasted. The pineapple, mango and banana help give it a sweeter flavor so that the wheat grass isn't so over powering.

All Lies Green Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 6oz almond milk

  • 3/4 cup frozen pineapple chuncks

  • 3/4 cup frozen mango chunks

  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves

  • 1/2 tbsp wheat grass powder

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

Directions:

In a blender place all the ingredients. I like to start with putting the milk in first and then the protein powder so it dissolves a little in the milk. Then I add the wheat grass powder. I like to layer the rest of the ingredients so that the frozen ingredients are furthest from the blade when it starts. I do not know if it makes a difference. I just like to think that the heavier, frozen ingredients are pushing the lighter ingredients down so that everything blends well.
